       Class of 1958- 50th   Reunion 9th Committee Meeting

Class of 1958 - 50th Reunion committee 9th luncheon meeting was held May 2, 2008 at Winants Hall. In attendance:  Marty Kravarik & Jose Carballal, reunion co-chairs; Don Taylor, class president; Cliff Ellis, web/e-mail chair, Jim Drago, class agent; Bob Max, class correspondent; Dick Schaub, class treasurer; Bob Fox, Jim McAdoo, Rich Ossi, Tom Maclin, Don Cook and guests Tom Carpenter ’57 and Keri DeMayo, Director Alumni Relations-NB. 

Keri indicated the RAA will be e-mailing and or mailing a letter to all registrants to confirm their registration for reunion events, locations and times to pick up registration packets and notice that our Class dinner location has been changed to the Busch Campus Faculty Dining Room at 608 Bartholomew Road, Piscataway with directions how to get to the Busch Dining Hall. 

 The registration form is available on the RAA website or by phoning the RAA office at 732-932-7474.  The RAA will be e-mailing and or mailing a letter with a coupon to waive the $20 late registration fee.  

The RAA reports of  bios & registration received as of May 9th :  total of 94 responses with 77 bios and    76 registrations. Reunion events: 73 uniform packets; classmates/ guests attending: 103 Old Guard dinner; 93 Alumni Luncheon; 41 Zimmerli Museum; 126 Class dinner & 37 Reunion Sunday breakfast.

Cliff presented the list of 22 names on the planning to attend list & 27 names on the maybe list that have not returned their registration forms. Each of the committee members   selected names from these lists to make follow up phone calls to remind them if they are still interested in attending our 50th Reunion to return their registration form   ASAP to the RAA.

Tom reported 9 registrations received from the Class of 1958 for the Reunion Golf Tournament. He suggested our 3 threesomes to tee off on holes # 3 & 4 at the 8AM shotguns so they may cheer each other. Don Cook said he would register for golf.

The committee approved the blue card Keri had printed with our Class cheer on one side and “The Bells Must Ring” on the other side. Tom noted the Glee club will help us sing “The Bells Must Ring” during our entrance into the Old Guard dinner.

Keri presented a revised draft of our Class dinner program. The committee approved the revised draft subject to adding two committee member names, which were inadvertently omitted. Keri noted the dinner tables will be set up to seat 8 /table. Cliff presented Allan Maitlin’s suggestion to have some tables set up as reserved at our Class dinner. Committee decided not to have any reserved tables. Classmates who want to sit together may save a table by putting their items on a table and titling their chairs in. 

Keri presented a price quote of $1071 to print and bind 100 copies of the bio forms. The committee decided to have the RAA print 5 sets of Bio forms and have them available to scan at our memorabilia table at our Class dinner.

Marty reminded committee members the Rutgers Living Society Annual Meeting and Award Ceremony   will be at 9 AM at Rutgers Student Center on Friday May 16th and the dedication of Class of 1942 WWII Memorial Plaza on Voorhees Plaza at 2 PM on Friday May 16th.
