Class of 1957
| Fellow '57ers, I look forward to our 50th and seeing you after all these years have passed. Donna and I are happily retired in Naples, FL and glad to see our SS checks arrive every month. I recall with great fondness my days "on the banks" and will be forever grateful for the life-long friendships, well-rounded education and life-lessons I took away from our school. I guess I never truly left NJ as I still read the Targum, Trenton Times, Star Ledger, NYTimes, etc. from time to time via the internet just to keep in touch. I have been struck by all the ink given the funding problems at Rutgers vs. the amount of money spent on football. All this prompts me to express my concern about the direction and priorities Rutgers is now following with its emphasis on big-time football at the expense of other sports and academics. Rutgers should not eliminate Olympic sports such as fencing, swimming, and crew. By doing so it deprives these true scholar-athletes some of them honor students |
